CHANGES TO YOUR UNIT

This information regarding changes to your unit is for tenants who live in the Franklin Housing Authority-owned and managed properties only. If you live in an apartment managed by a private landlord, please contact your landlord for any maintenance issues.

In general, the Franklin Housing Authority does not allow changes to your unit.

Painting

The Franklin Housing Authority does not allow painting or wallpapering of the unit by tenants. Peeling or chipping paint should be reported to the office by calling 432-3416.

Locks

The Franklin Housing Authority owns your unit and must have access to it in the event of an emergency.

Therefore:

Do not have locksmiths other than the Franklin Housing Authority provide lock changes.

Do no install any additional latch or lock to any door. This includes all types, including slide bolts and chain latches.

Changes Allowed by the Americans with Disabilities Act

If you acquire a disability and need changes to your unit to accommodate a disability, please let us know.  You may need to be transferred to a unit that is accessible if one is vacant, or plans may be developed to change your current unit if possible. Changes should pertain only to that which is necessary to accommodate the disability. We will work with you to create a solution.
